2. Quality Control Protocols
Material incoming QC: active ingredient content (HPLC/GC per CIPAC methods), impurity profile, physical properties (particle size, viscosity, pH), COA verification.
In-process QC: active ingredient content monitoring every shift, particle size distribution checks, viscosity and pH verification, suspension rate monitoring for SC/WP formulations.
Final inspection: 100% analytical testing (active ingredient content, physical properties), Certificate of Analysis, visual inspection, labeling verification, random sample testing (AQL 2.5 or 4.0 per ISO 2859).

5. Logistics and Shipping
Common Incoterms: FOB (Factory delivers to departure port – most common), EXW (Buyer arranges all shipping from factory door), CIF (Factory pays freight and insurance to destination port).
Agrochemical products are classified as hazardous goods (UN number varies by formulation) — ensure your logistics partner handles DG cargo. Drum packaging (200 L) is standard for liquid formulations; WDG and WP use 25 kg bags. Sea freight transit from China to the EU typically takes 25–35 days, and 7–14 days to the US West Coast — on top of the 25–35 day production lead time.
6. Common Pitfalls
- No factory audit: Always perform or commission a third-party audit (QIMA, SGS, Bureau Veritas)
- Verbal specs only: Detailed technical specification sheet signed by both parties
- Skipping sample approval: Written sign-off on pilot batches before bulk production
- No QC during production: Third-party inspection during production (DUPRO) and before shipment (PSI)
- Ignoring regulatory requirements: Verify ICAMA registration, FAO/WHO specification compliance and market-specific documentation before production
