Mancozeb Fungicide Manufacturing: WP and WDG Formulations

Mancozeb is manufactured primarily as WP 80% and WDG 75% formulations for foliar fungicide application on potatoes, tomatoes, grapes and cereals. WDG (water-dispersible granule) is increasingly preferred over WP due to reduced dust exposure, easier handling and better suspensibility (>85% after 30 minutes per CIPAC MT 15). Active ingredient analysis uses the CS₂ evolution method per CIPAC 39, as dithiocarbamates cannot be directly quantified by HPLC.

WDG manufacturing requires spray-drying or pan-granulation equipment with precise binder and dispersant formulation.
